The Seesaw

In your quest to be a good human and always trying to be there for others it is easy that you forget about yourself and your needs. You might have since childhood been taught that the wellbeing of others is more important than your own. In some instances there was a parent thirsting for attention, whose needs became more important than your own.

Now you need to change focus and gears to feeling and satisfying your own needs. This can be hard because of you not being used to it. However, it is important to do it or otherwise you will burn out your energy.

Imagine a seesaw and that you at the end of the day take a look at it. Observe how the balance has been what you have done for others in terms of energy and what you have received from others. We are not here talking about money. We are talking about for instance supporting some friend on the side of going out. On the other side, taking in, you might have taken a walk and took in energy from nature.

Have you noticed more often than not is tipping only on one side. In other words you are doing the giving. Try to create balance. Think about what would give you more energy. You might need to gently but decisively tell somebody who always expect you to do the giving.

If you work in a profession that is about helping other people it is important that you regularly set aside time for yourself in order to replenish your energy.

We all have different ways to replenish our energy banks. Some get it through their own interests, others via their family and some get it through spiritual activities.

Imagine that your energy is inside you in a battery. You regularly need to recharge your battery. If you work hard and regularly reach the reserve level in your battery it is important to recharge. When you start to recover your energy do not deplete them right away. Try to think that you need store energy for your self.

Many of us have very wise bodies. They usually sound the alarm that your energy has reached a too low a level, for instance by you catching a cold or getting a migraine and need to stay home and rest for a few days.

Some who work to help others for instance through healing connect with the other side before a session and ask for energy and support from their spiritual guides. After the session they give thanks for the assistance the received. This is a very good practice. Think of the energy as light, it comes from your spiritual guides and finds it way through you to your client. By doing it this way you do not use up your own personal stamina or energy. The power from the angels and your guides is infinite.

When you feel worn out you can also ask for help from your guide to get energy replenished for yourself. This light or energy you can imagine comes in as warm golden energy that reaches your body via your head. Slowly it fills you up, from the top down, through your whole body – cell by cell. Let the light fill you up – envision that it gives you energy and force.

Just because you take care of yourself it does not mean that you do not care about others. However, you are as important as others and you must take care of yourself.
